    'Traders Choice' !!!

Many broker have on their platform some sort of a percentage bar, where you should be able to see a percentage of calls/puts taken ... in my brokers case that is boldly called 'Traders Choice'

However, so far I haven't figured out to which timeframe this percentage is tied ... at least there seem to be no change, when I change the timeframes of my trades ...

So, isn't that practically useless without any timed information?

Yes. It is useless (for me at least) as there r a number of factors which r unknown about it.

1- As you pointed out - timeframe
2- No information about how they calculate it (By number of traders or By amount).
3- How much amount is invested on either call or put.

Even if all of the above info is provided, I dun think it will be significant enough to move market so it is useless.

Thanks for your opinion ... so yes, it probably can be filed under 'just another glossy marketing gimmick'

Marc, I agree with you. Most brokers are full of gimmicks.

Hilarious that this percentage bar is an integral part of some of the '60-second-get-awful-rich-quick-strategies'

agreed, it's much gimmicky than useful. It would be more useful if those sentiment bars were actually based on the real market trend rather than the trend at the specific broker. You should check with broker. Nevertheless, these bars give you a certain knowledge of the overall vibe. sometimes it's good to go with the flow.

    bottom line - gimmick(:

Most of the times it seems to show 50/50 anyway ... only a few times I have seen something like 60/40, but the price was going wildly in any direction ... I hoped that would be more useful, like 'getting a glimpse of what the pro's are trading' ... but the mass seem actually more clueless than me

On a side note: hope no one feels watched by my Avatar ... I was bored with my grey shooting-range plate ... if it's a problem I can make it smaller
