Hot Watch this Great Movie! !!!

Watch this epic movie! It explains everything about the floor traders and their extraordinary jobs. Now with the new technologies in place very few people work on the trading floors, but this job still exist and it is worth to know how exactly it is done. I think it was much easier to trade in the past on the floor where you could see how all other participants are reacting. Now it is very difficult to spot this feelings like market panic or enthusiasm.

Yes, the trend changes with time. Everything is hi-tech now. Its exciting working on the floor but now is very much quieter than before but it's good to know how they operates the daily trades.

This is an interesting movie, I watch it but most of the information is already way outdated. Yes there are still floor traders, but they are interacting with their electronic devices directly with their brokerage and everything is much electronically connected. There is no such thing like paper inventory presented in the film any more, but as a historical representation it is a good movie.

Pretty interesting, just remembered the story from "Reminiscence of stock operator" where trader in the past need to queue and holding their paper order at pit,
there are bucket shops and the real shares market where brokers shouting to match deal after *Gong* sounded, floor turn into war zone.
There are several names I can mention such as Larry Williams, Jesse Livermore who trade as floor traders.

Never have fund of $M something, I heard if you get big funds you can have access to the "Floor" data which cannot be accessed by retail trader and you can see order at each levels waiting to be executed or stop hunted.

Its not big funds but big lots sizes that you can get access that we call "floor quote". Not only you must have big lots sizes but your account must be opened with an Exchange clearing member firm who has at least 1 seat on the floor where 1 seat the excahnge can alloacte 1 trader on the floor to execute clients orders.
The member firm is equiped with a hot line linked directly to their trader(s) on the floor so we can buy or sell instantly the "real" current market price without having to place paper orders and there will be no spread or very tight spread.
