    Metatrader question !!!

What's the reason for my MT4 lagging behind in time of the broker trading platform? Sometimes I notice time differences of about 10-15 seconds. Quite annoying ...

Is that a local problem, like program settings? pc settings? slow internet connection?
Or is that a problem at the side of my broker (4xp)?

... or is that just 'normal'?

    Hey Marc

It's actually not lagging...just different price feeds. You will get the difference by looking at the "BID" price on your mt4 chart. If you look at the "ask'' price on your chart (select it in chart properties) you will see most BO brokers feed is around "ASK" +2 in MT4. Not some clever workaround just the price difference does not seem that vast...well that sounds bad...not that much.

    Hope It makes sense.

Hmm ... not sure, that you understood my problem ... I am aware that there are different price feeds ...

But I have a timing problem ... sometimes I notice, that a 15m candle in MT4 is still forming, and on the trading platform the 15min option is already closed ... time difference is somewhere around 10-15 seconds ... and I don't need so much time to switch screens ... but it happens not always ...

Ok...yeah, MT4 relies on the next tick movement in price, so can sometimes lag at the start of a new bar/candle because MT4 only prints on a new tick. Could be a whole bunch of things, relating to broker servers to your connection....it ain't perfect..

Hey yeah I've got the same problem and its annoying me as well, I'd like to be able to take trades with price movements that are in time with what I am seeing on MT4 and aren't lagging all over the place in what can be very unpredictable at times. For me this is one thing holding me back between trading for real because I don't like seeing the prices on the broker feed not doing what I am seeing in my analysis and the thought of having a trade close out of the money as a result is not something I want to risk. This is why a MT4-plugin is really needed in the industry imo. This is something that is already available by a number or white label partners/binary options platform providers (see link) http://www.spotoption.com/mt4-plug-in/ If a legitimate broker would just offer something like this it would solve the problem once and for all..I would like to know if I could somehow configure my MT4 to match the brokers price feed and movements but somehow doubt that would be possible.

Well, at least for my timing problem I have an explanation

I called my broker and he told me that they use different feed services for the option platform and for MT4 ... at least they are working on a solution ...

Sometimes you will have different candle closing times even between the MT4 platforms of FX brokers

I never faced any problem like yours. So I think it would be more better, if you simply contact with your brokers live support. Your problem is not local problem or not even global. Might be you are facing this alone. so contact with support line and ask them to solve your issue.

I wouldn't trust this company. check out these reviews by ForexPeaceArmy, great resource for Forex brokers reviews. here it is : http://www.forexpeacearmy.com/public/review/www.cmsfx.com
