Hot New Strategy by Messing around? !!!

Hi guys i have a strategy that i'm going to be testing for a while and trying to tweak to see if i can get it working. From just having a look back on the charts in a 15min time frame has seemed to be the best so far. I had a look in 1min as well and some of the quite a few of the signals seemed to be profitable, but as i've heard lots and lots on this forum TEST TEST TEST, so if anyone wants to give it a try and maybe add to it i'd be happy or even to see if it does work. =)

So this it it so far not much in it but hoping to either get a bit more to it or tweak it to get better results if its not good.

INDICATORS: 10EMA, 25 EMA, and 50EMA plotted on the chart, ADX with the value 14 with the level 25, and a RVI with the value of 18.

STRATEGY: What i have been doing is waiting for the 10 EMA (red) to have crossed DOWN through BOTH the 25 EMA (blue) and the 50 EMA (yellow) with the ADX being ABOVE the 25 level, and the RVI being on under the 0 level with the green line being under the red line. Once these conditions have been met i will take a put and vice versa for a call but with it all going up. I've put pictures below to help out a bit.

This is for a put option. They are circled in white.

I have only tried it out on the 15 min time frame as of now but will test on other time frames to see how it works and for what i'd need to adjust. I will be posting back with the results that i'll be getting over the next few weeks and report back to let you all know how i'm going. Any input into things i could possibly change would be great or things to add to it.
See you all when i get results good or bad. =)

Great to see you have a strategy, Liam! Your idea for double EMA crosses seems perfect. I am not very familiar with the RVI index, but I know that it is an oscillator like stochastic. You should test it not only on one asset but on two or more and see how it will perform. If I have time I will also test it and tweak if possible.

I'll take a close look at it. In my searching, I have a number of settings using EMA and RSI. I'll try looking them up as well as post back some thoughts. Thanks for sharing.

    Thank for sharing Liam,

This strategy looks promising, although some testing may be necessary before tweak it to be profitable.

Hey guys today i was able to get a few trades in on my demo account with Markets World, and using this strategy i was able to get 3 out of 5 trades won and 2 lost. All of them were only 10 dollar ones but so i only made $4.50 or so but still a profit. So far it's 3 out of 5 trades which is 66%. I'll keep you all posted.

Hi again guys, thought i'd update on the previous post to let you know i had put a trade on for the next morning and that also won so my ratio was 4 out of 6 not 3 out of 5, so it has worked out a bit better than i thought. Also i have mucked around with the RVI and changed the value to 21 but it doesn't seem like it would work the best for signals., so i have set that to a value of 14. I have still kept everything else the same but instead of watching the green line on the RVI i have changed to the red. Also i have only done this on the 15 min time frame and it seems to be going well. I have found that on this TF the signals that i have gotten usually have lasted around 2-4 hours, which i find surprising but good nonetheless. I will update tomorrow if i get time on what happens with the trades i put on tonight which is so far 2 out of 2.

Oh the currencies i have used this on are EUR/USD and USD/JPY.

    All the best

Thank you for sharing your strategy Liam. Could you tell us what are the most successful expiry times using this strategy for you?

Hi goldenapp, sorry for the late reply. Been all over the place. To answer your question i have mainly been using 30 min expires but it looks like 1hour even 2 hour would also be a good time to go for since out of the 3 or 4 trades i have lost they were a time issue, and more time would have helped.

Hope this helps =) these are my results so far:Click image for larger version.

On the second pic from the 23 i think is when i started using this strategy then the ones with green up the side are with this strategy aswell. The ones circled in red are where an hour or 2 would have been a good expiry =)
