I cant remember exactly why did I start trading. I think it took me a couple of months or maybe more to involve into trading. My involvement in trading was a slow process.
My cousins used to trade in stock market. Whenever I saw them, they were just looking at pc with open mouths and continuously changing face expressions. I got a little interested in what actually they do. I had a little idea about stock market but never got involved in it. So I first searched a little about it on internet. Then I came to know about forex. By comparing forex and stock market, I decided to practice forex.
I started with less than an hour per day for forex and then gradually increased time coz it was interesting. Initially it wasnt a good experience..........................

Next part is in my intro thread

It was the $$ bills that got me into trading. A lot of the rich people I had talked to or found out via various sources (the internet, books, etc) were involved in the securities market to some extent.
Many significant fortunes (George Soros, Warren Buffett, David.E Shaw, Donald Sussman, etc) have come about as a result of trading.
Having grown up to a certain extent in NY, it was a natural affinity to embrace everything that was Wall Street.
In reality, trading exists everywhere. From businesses that are in retail to wholesale. We are all looking to profit from selling something whether it be a good or service.
This is my observation at least.

In old times, very few traders were attracted to advertising coz there wasnt much scams and forex wasnt much popular.
But now 99% of newbies start trading bcoz of "6-figure $$ in a month". Scam rate is very high in forex business. Greed has always been a factor but it looks like that it is the ONLY factor for many newbies.

I got my Bachelor's degree in History thinking that I wanted to be a teacher but then when I actually finished, I realized I wanted nothing to do with that. I think I was attracted to trading more because of the challenge of it (although there is nothing wrong with the money made from a successful trade). I think I benefited from this though initially because it really pushed me to do my markets homework early on and it wound up paying dividends later.

Because learning about investing, stock and options trading was like having the wool removed from eyes. I have loved it ever since I was first introduced to it and would keep up with the markets even if I couldn't trade.

I agree with you a 100% here. I am passionate about investing and stock/options trading too. You've got to have some love for the game in order to succeed. So I've heard and from my experiences, its seems to be holding true.
