2017, The End of BO? !!!

There is too many sad stories, scam brokers, fake robots, thieves...... France and Belgium already ban BO. To be honest I am pretty sceptical about the future of BO.

So, what do you think? Will 2017 be the end of binary options?

Yeh, we had a chat yesterday about that sad story.. don't wanna be harsh or anything like that but as long as broker can find people to cheat up or some others falling for all their lies I don't think BO will come to an end, contrarily I think BO its reaching a new era we now see more regulated and trustable brokers. Nowadays is way easier to find information on the internet and forums in general about regulated brokers and their reviews made by other traders from their empirical experience, several websites also work as an army vs scammers so traders feel safer knowing that they have a place to complain and they are gonna be listened. I saw also this year that CySec for example fined tons of brokers for ilegal or dark actions...

For all this reasons I still think theres path ahead to be walked in the world of BO.

You're about too many bad stories related to binary options. This wonderful product has been taken over by scammers who utilize efficient marketing to get more clients.

I think it's impossible to shut down an entire online industry worth not Millions, but billions according to the Times of Israel. As long as you want to rip off someone online, no regulator can stop you. Can you still trade with unregulated FX brokers? Yes! But the question is why opening an account with an unregulated broker if you can open an account with a respected heavily regulated broker!! Regulators must understand that the best option is to heavily regulate the industry, come up with rules and allow maximum protection for clients. A ban on ADVERTISING (notice that the ban issued by France was concerning advertising, not actually trading) is a good move forward, but even better is a ban on certain options (Canadian regulators talk about ban on options shorter then a week) and stronger enforcement when it comes to client complaints.

There are rumours of upcoming lawsuit against Banc de Binary, a major player in this industry, and a very notorious company. Regulators and law enforcement agencies should take measures to help victims. Doing so will also help them understand the process of selling binary options, beginning with "make easy money" robots to aggressive sales and price manipulation (or simply ignoring the client when it comes to withdrawal).

Over the passing couple of years we've been nominating a "Winner". 2015 was the year of the "Fake Robots" - http://www.binaryoptionsthatsuck.com...gnal-provider/ . Dozens of make easy money robots like the WarrenBuffet robot and MillionaireBlueprints popped out like mushrooms after the rain. Scam levels exploded. I guess that's the reason for the winner of 2016 - The year of the "Crackdown" http://www.binaryoptionsthatsuck.com...tions-brokers/

So we have 2015 as the reason for the crackdown on 2016. 2017 - The year of the Regulator?

    Next ban is here!

Quebec’s financial regulatory body, the Autorite des Marches Financiers (AMF), said on Wednesday it has proposed the formal prohibition of the sale of binary options to citizens in the province. This makes Quebec the first province in Canada to officially consider the ban on such instruments.

“The Authority is concerned by the growing number of complaints received regarding the trading of products commonly called “binary options”, whichare offered illegally to retail customers in Quebec via unauthorized on-line trading platforms,” the Quebec watchdog said in a notice.

The AMF is working on a draft project with which it would amend the derivatives regulation. The draft also offers other measures concerning the identification of hedgers and the delivery of financial statements.

Full article below, but 2017 is looking like the year we see some actual action.

yes, so far as I know France and Belgium have only banned ADVERTISING and MARKETING binary options, trading is legal in the EU through the CySEC regulation, the MiFID and EU FInancial Passport. I don't think they've found a way to get around that.
