Good for a laugh - the rubbish spouting from even the "reputable" sites !!!

I just had to post this. An email from a broker that appears high up in the list of reputable brokers - even they try and scam you. If you don't think this is a scam then go back and read some of the training and other posts about relying on brokers who claim they are on your side...

    ---------------------

    Dear Traders,

    Greetings to all!

As your broker I will like to speak with you all about the strategy for your portfolio.

I feel that when I sent an email last month to my new traders to invest 800 for the 1st month you considered that, it is the final investment for growing your portfolio to a level of 30,000 to 50,000 in 6 months.

So my answer is NO!!!! This is just a misunderstanding!!!

Please understand, that 800 was only 1st month investment, now I know many traded with 1000 with me, and most of them got satisfactory results and made on their account 750 so total value of their account moved to 1750.

Yes I must say there were few clients who lost the trade for 1000 I gave them but I secured their trades so they received the 1000 back in their account.

Traders, please understand I trade with Corporate levels, means a investment of 100,000 and above.

I want to build your accounts, but you need to give me a hand to it.

I am going to write again more clearly how the investment plan will work.

NEW TRADERS 1st month investment total 1000, returns 750 total value of portfolio 1750

2nd month, you add more 3250 so you have total 5000 on account and I give you contract that will move your portfolio value to 8500.

3rd Month you add more 1500, so your total investment is 5000 means Silver Account Package, here you get 1 Risk Free trade in which your total Portfolio value is 10000 (5250 capital investment + 4750 profits made in 2 months) so your account value will be 17500. Also 1 Academy session.

4th Month you add more 2500 and your starting Portfolio Value is 20000, end of the month with the contracts your Portfolio Value will be 35000.

5th Month you add more 5000 (Means Gold Account Package means 3 Risk free trades) and your starting Portfolio Value will be 40000 (12750 capital investment + 27250 profits), end of the month the portfolio value is 70000. Also 2 Academy sessions.

Lets Say more realistic way in end of 5th Month your account value will be 50000 as sometimes we need to consider market losses too.

TRADERS, Look above what I am saying, I am about 17 years on the market, with a senior level experience, I do not feel good to work with small amounts I just need to see who is serious and understand what I am building for you all.

I am giving you an opportunity to get the best of me, but I also need my space to help your portfolio grow, so please do not misunderstand me and read carefully every word I say, if you have questions just ask me.

I hope all who read this understand that for an total Capital investment of 12750 you get a return of 50000 in 5 months means a profit of 37250 is not a bad idea as you all come from middle class society and have dreams to create a better future, but for that you need to give me a hand to help your account grow. My services cost.

Of-course you invest in the 1st and 2nd month amount of 10000 - 20000 the strategy is different, and with in 6 months the portfolio value is above 150000.

Just feel free to speak with me, as whatever I am providing you here is for your future. As I see you all as my family. Hope you all understand the strategy and give me the best support to assist you.

    Hi DrSpec,

This is not a beginners topic but mostly a thread for Brokers Room.

That’s why I am moving your thread there. You can also share the name of this broker. We don’t need to keep secrets here I don’t know which is the broker and how reputable it is but even the best brokers sucks sometimes and we have to be prepared for that! Also I want to mention that sometimes good brokers (I mean brokers that we can trust for trading with) also use inappropriate promotion and communication technics with their potential clients and that also sucks and we have to be aware of such practices. So thank you for sharing with us!

Ok, I agree on the name and shame. It was Magnum Options.

Probably of more concern was that a prior email from the same guy though different title (email included below) actually included in the "To:" field the unfiltered email addresses of me and 250 other "valued clients". I considered that a gross security breach.

    The previous message:
    --------------------------------
    Dear Valued Traders,

This is (same guy) from Magnum Options, regarding your account with us! I am The Trading Floors Asst. Director and you account was passed on to me from your previous broker whom I had to let go, because here at Magnum we pride ourselves on being producers for our clients and if a broker cant hack it and help his clients achieve their financial goals, then he doesn't belong here!

I tried to reach you on your number but got your voice mail unfortunately. I wanted to discuss your account and the potential it has to make you 75-85% return off your investment by the end of August. Now I am not sure what type of trader yo are with out speaking to you, I can gauge if your an aggressive or conservative trader?

I do have a couple of positions that you can take advantage of and make allot of money within a very short time, but more than that the beauty of this system is that you don't have to do much to make such lucrative profits, and believe me if you even do half as well as my other clients, you will be very impressed and the only problem you'll have is that we didn't speak to each other 6 months ago! Below are some detail on trades I would like to get you into:

For an investment of $5,000, I will provide you a guaranteed profit trade. That means that you will have around $8,500 to $9,000 in your account by the end of this month!

For an investment of $10,000, I can add you another $10,000 as a matching bonus and two guaranteed profit trades for $5,000 each. That mean you will have around $27,000 to $30,000 in your account by the end of this month!

For an investment of $20,000, I will add you another $30,000 as a bonus and four guaranteed profit trades. By the end of this month your account balance will be around $64,000 to $70,000!

As human beings we are creatures of habit, most people will wait around for an opportunity to present itself to them instead of going out and making it happen themselves. Well the opportunity is at your door, all you have to do is open it!

Here are my trade records for the past 2 months to show you my track record of 85% success!

You actually received the names of 250 users??? Wow. That's crazy. I think if you send this email along with the names of all 250 users to his boss, this guy will get fired asap.

Yep, got emails and in most cases names as well, lots of companies they work for too (work email addresses). My 250 covered alphabet "Ran" to "Yad", so presumably others got other 250 addresses.

Thought about either telling him he was an idiot, or sending all the other names an email pointing to them to one of the relevant pages here, but assumed they would just ban me and take my money. Needless to say I have ignored all emails.

Phone calls too - I can recognise the number - and they insist on calling at around 7 or 8pm Friday night (Au time). As if I'm going to answer that!

This is an example of what a lot of regulators are trying to key on, not that a broker is neccesarily bad, just that they are unregulated and/or using highly aggressive marketing tactics etc.

A broker that's too aggressive is a no go (or leave fast) broker to me.

No problem with some advertising mails of an incidental call how things are going, but aggressive works against them with me.
