    Quick question on filtering !!!

When it is said that a indicator requires more filtering before making a trade what exactly or generally does this mean.
What I do is go to other TF and see what the same indicator is doing there then I use maybe a couple of other indicator to see. Is this what they mean by filtering.

So if I am using a Pro Parabolic Sar indicator what would be good to use with it as a filter.
thanks sorry for the newbie questions

More filtering usually means that you have to add extra conditions (filters), that should result in fewer but higher probability trades. Filters could be based on timeframes, other indicators, cycles, anything basically

    SAR is a reversal indicator,

For counter trend another confirmation of reversal could be used, for example MA cross
For trend following another confirmation of the trend could be used, for example if price is above/blow MA
Fore rage trading there should be confirmation that there is rage and another confirmation that it is oversold/overbought, for example bollinger bands and RSI.
