I am expecting a rate hike to be anounced for late 2015. I don't expect anybody from Fed to anounce exact month or very close period, because it can shake the markets pre-summer time, which I think nobody want

My question is what could be the effect on US stock markets if they anounce September hike? Will it lead to decline or to rise in the markets. Based on simple assumptions it will be bearish, but I am not absoulutely sure how the players are positioned right now?

Haha already two of the expectations in the pool are for surprising rate hike! If it become true we can see tremendous volatility

It was rumors Dow Jones will be dropped 4000 index points in the next few weeks or month.Everything is possible.Obama said that a strong dollar could harm the US economy.Maybe FED will hike rate this month.

It will only good for Americans and US citizens. If they want to spend their summer holidays in Europe they will be spent less dollar than they expected. Dollar can be stronger in abroad and they can buy more.

As I told you before stronger dollar isn't good for the US economy but for the US tourists is the great.

I agree with Kolyo on this one...i don´t think that anybody wants to shake the markets pre-summer time.
Somehow,in my opinion, late August/early September is the critical period for a rates hike announcement.
