Hello everyone, I've been sharking around the forums for a couple of weeks now; familiarizing myself with the content of the school portion of BOTS and i'm quite zealous to get started trading short term fake money positions (5m, 15m, 1h) on a demo account of trusted binary options platform (likely stockpair due to good reviews?)

My background is in standard nasdaq, amex, nyse ect... day trading of american securities in long positions based on break out patterns...

I've been having a bit of difficulties setting up MT4 and am unsure of who i should open an account with so that i have access to realtime charts on this software. Meta Trader 4 defaults to alpari-uk-demo market and is requiring me to process an account through this (or another) provider before i can access forex charts...any suggestions would be helpful...

    Thanks, peepeestar

    Hi, welcome!
I had the same issue with MT4, you don't need to register with any broker.
Just choose the alpari account and proceed as demo it should work.
I know the new MT4 versions can be kind of difficult to install.
I had to re-install a couple of times to get it working.
Anyway, you don't need to register with a forex broker, just remember that.
The alpari demo account should work fine.

Check in the right bottom corner in MT4 after installation:

As you can see I am connected to a demo account!

There are many MT4 providers and many of them are doing great job for testing purposes. I don’t think it will be difficult for you to set up oanda or alpari or hotforex demo account.

Hello, nice to have you here! MT4 is one of the best and most simple platforms. You will learn easily how to use it.

MT4 is the most popular platform, through the years i've seen brokers with other platforms shifting to mt4, even mt5 did not do as well as mt4 and i guess most strategies and eas are based on mt4

Yeah, MT5 is just not the same. Guess that people have just gotten so accustomed to MT4 that they don't feel comfortabe with other platforms.
