Having a diary is very important.
Specially here on CommuniTraders because people
can help you and give you feedback.

I have some tips for your Diary:

Start by explaining your strategy in your first or second post.
Try to keep the presentation clean and simple but still informative!

Pictures are great, in fact a necessity!
Not all pictures are good, taking a screen shot of all your desktop
is just messy. I recommend installing lightshot. Takes a few seconds
but saves you a lot of time and allows you to print screen the exact
area of your choice on your screen.

Simply press print screen and choose an area, see this link for example. Make sure the chart title is shown, your entry and expiry if possible and your indicators too.

Write a small description of why you took that trade.

For more inspiration please check other diaries in this thread and let us know if you have any questions!

I can't tell you how much a trading journal has helped me, it helps me understand the fundamentals. and the technical, and how the two interact with each other...namely how to make better trades.

Very nice tread, Michael! Keeping a journal allows you to see your trading manners from the outside and realize your mistakes. Also it develops your strategies. It’s like learning in school… when you try to explain the lesson to another kid, you learn it better yourself.
