    Think or Swim? !!!

So..... im chatting away to all sorts of different folk on social trading groups and everyone keeps going on about "Think or Swim". I went to the website and saw that i needed to open an account with a broker call ameritrade. But when talking to the agent online apparently i cant this "ToS" programme because they dont support clients in the UK. Does anyone else know of something i can use that they think will help? Any reply would be much appreciated.

    Hello mickjenkins,

Why don't you look for another broker? Think or Swim is not binary options broker, so I don't believe it will help you much in binary trading. Even though drewview's advice is good, I believe that you should better learn to trade on your own means instead of depending on algorithms.

If you are searching some binary options on US stocks it will be really difficult to find proper broker. Check some StockPair or some of the other old brokers for their asset index and find if there are the stocks you want to trade. Otherwise it will be difficult to find proper solution.

oh ok, thanks for the replies it just seemed that everyone that i have been talking to through social groups go on about ToS all the time. I did actually manage to download it in the end but worried now that it will be a waste of time trying to understand the "set up". To be honest i keep seeing people showing screenshots of charts with "candles" but no binary options charts i have seen have these. In fact im not entirely sure what the candles are all about.

It's the big problem with new traders: they hear about 'the' solution and are afraid to miss a good opportunity. However, it's the most sure way of losing money to be afraid to miss an opportunity. It's the way advertizing works, shops works and especially a scammer works.

Newbies hear of golden mountains and are afraid missing the big rush.

I don't know ToS and to be honest: I don't care. It may be good, it may be bad: I want to trade myself and know what I'm doing.

My advice: start with the BOTS school and learn trading yourself. It may be taking a longer time, but it's the way to success.

    Good trading!

Unfortunately ToS has banned clients from all europe like two yrs ago (think they are accepting clients only from the US), too bad as they are one of the most reputable/has the most user-friendly platform in the US. As others pointed out, they are not for binaries, they are for regular option trading. If that's something you'd like to try out then Interactive Brokers is a good alternative.

I use OptionsXpress, it was originally used by the folks who created think or swim, both good platforms for options trading.... I use it for the charts, Java charts rock.

don't worry too much about those candles, its easy to miss the forest for the trees. try to learn about trend and support/resistance, those are keys for every trader..
