Hi Breno and welcome to the CommuniTraders!

It is great to see new traders coming everyday to our forum and searching for opinion about binary options trading. Your question is really a very important question regarding that most of the new binary options traders have some experience in the past with forex. The answer is not obvious and it can not be said for all forex strategies that they are suitable for binary options trading. However there are many such strategies that can produce great results both in forex and binaries. We have a great and well organized school section discussing many strategies which are taken mostly from forex trading and return back to binaries. If you examine them in details you will see how easy it is to adapt something from forex here. You have to take in mind that in binary trading you don’t have to think about exits. The only moment you have to find and define is the entry point and duration. There is no need to have exit strategy and this make a little bit different each strategy you want to adapt from forex, but it is possible just need more practice.

Thanks for the feedback, Kolyo! It's just that I want to understand better, with respect to closing time. It really is all a matter of analysis, to verify the best times of closure/expire for each graph/time frame.

    Hello Breno,

You are absolutely right each strategy need some indication or let’s say a measure of the expiration time. I use often some volatility based measures, like ATR, Bollinger or something similar to check the volatility. If we have greater volatility than the expiration time should be smaller, if we have less volatility the expiration should be greater. For example during the night in Asia session it is better to select 4 hours expiration for the same strategy which you use with 15 or 30 minutes expiration during the US session.

To trade with the right approach it is necessary to know exactly what are your trading goals. If you want to make short term trades it is better to use momentum indicators. If you want to trade with weekly or monthly expirations it is better to use some other tools which are more appropriate. For example MACD or other divergent tools are good to trade on reversing situations.

Its a fair enough questions but the only difference between BO trading and traditional spot forex is the time element. You must decide on time expiry in BO. To be totally honest, there are not many technical strategies that forecast time, and they would all be classified as "advanced." But as far as projecting price cirection and targets, technical analysis strategies work just fine in BO. there are no other differences

I have no idea what you are basing this on. There is very little difference in the accuracy of indicators and the time frame used. Results are pretty similar.
