Question Questions for profitable traders! !!!

Hello, I was not sure where to start this new thread!

Anyway let me begin by explaining my thoughts,
and let me explain why these are important questions.

During my time studying and learning I was told:
    - Stop focusing on the losses, learn to handle a loss and move on!

Also on every reasonable site that I came across I was told the following words over and over again:
    - 95% of traders lose their money and there are only 5% successful traders.

So combining these two lessons I want to turn my focus onto the 5% who are actually making money!
I want to know about you guys who are actually profiting, even if it's 100dollars a month.

And why is this important? I think it gives new people like me hope.
And we need the hope to continue our learning process and to not give up.

So my questions are the following:
    1. Do you only trade binary options?

    2. For how long have you been trading?

    3. Are you profitable? (I think if anyone is a pro-trader they know what qualifies being profitable)

    4. Are you trading for a living or do you still have a "regular" job?

    5. What are your goals?
(Want to be good enough to quit your job and be a full time trader? Or any other goals for that matter, please share!)

    6. What is your background? (What were your expertise before you started trading, finance? Math? Carpenter? Didn't go to school?)

Hope as many as possible can find the time to answer, I think this is quite interesting for us new traders.
    Grateful for your time, thanks!

Interesting thread, so I will answer openly ... sadly I am still one of the 95% but I really think, that I am on the move to be profitable ... at least, I haven't burned my account so far ... however, that should answer your question #3

#1: Yes ... but if I can master BO, maybe I will get into Forex, too
#2: My interest in trading started 8-9 months ago and actually I had no experience before
    #3: See above ...
#4: Still working as Designer/Teacher ... but I am self-employed so actually I have lots of time for trading
#5: (Multi)Millionaire, what else!? ... at least, being able to live from trading
    #6: Artist/Industrial Design/Illustration/Mechanical Engineer (Leonardo daVinci-type )

    NO, regular options, stocks
Since 2005, October 5th to be exact
Yes, on a long term basis and I even think I have by now made up all my "learning" losses
I still have a part time job because I like to make cash still, that way I can leave all my money in my trading accounts.
I'll be retired soon, that's my goal.
    I was a chef first,

    Now that's a long time!
That's great to hear Michael, I hope I too can soon work part time only and
spend the rest of my time trading.
You will be retiring your job I guess, not the trading right? Silly question.

Ah, I love cooking and baking .

    Thanks for answering!

Quite a job interview ahhaha. U sure u are not working for some big shot Wall Street company?
That statistic (95% lose and 5% win) is flawed to say the least so dont trust it. Anyway, here are my answers:

    1. No

    2. About 5 years. The first 2 I was pretty lazy but the last three years I dont think I had a single day when I didnt look at the charts.

    3. Yes, but I never go into more details

    4. I am not trading for a living. I do have a job as a writer for BOTS and Technical/Fundamental analyst for an FX broker which I will not mention. You said you needed hope to push forward so probably this helps: Yes, I could live off my trading if I would want to

    5. I hate money. I want to have enough money so I never have to think about it in my life. I never want to see a price tag in my life and I dont want to ask or be told how much something costs. If I want something, I buy it, with absolutely no interest regarding its price. I also want to buy my mom a house and I hope I will not know the price of that house. That's about it... well, I could tell you about the vintage car collection I want but I dont have the money for it... yet

Trading related, my goal is to find the infamous Holy Grail aka the Golden Goose, the Unicorn, the Flying Pig. Sure, everybody believes such a thing doesnt exist... I disagree completely but dont tell that to a newbie. The HG is not what everybody thinks it is.
I will probably not quit my job as it keeps me balanced.

    6. Law School (College degree)- Jurist for a short while (wasnt something i liked at all and the pay wasnt good) - Toner cartridge sales representative (I know, I hate sales) - Supervisor of countrywide (Romania) toner sales (same company) - Junior General Sales Manager (same field, another company) - General Manager (same field, my own company) - opened a Paintball firm - opened a pub/bar - started trading - present - future

My trading newbie background: I probably made every mistake in teh book: I blew about three accounts, I had no idea about money management, I risked too much, I overtraded, I trusted signal providers (one of my accounts was blown because of this), I thought trading is easy... I cant even remember them all, but if u can think of it, i probably did it. However, I never bought any system/bot/software.

When I started writing this I dint think it would be this long lol
    Take care

I think the most interesting point in this post is that you are looking at trading in terms of wins vs. losses. The reality is that even of you are only $1 above 0, you are doing something right as long as you can continue to keep your head above water for the long term. Things start to get ridiculous when people make timelines for trades and money, setting goals like "I will start by making $500 a week, then after X time I will be a millionaire." It doesn't work like this. Instead of making these imaginary timelines, just worry about your next trading decision.

Haha, nice questionnaire! I like the questions because they need honest and detailed answers.

    No, I trade forex too.

I have been trading for 3 years till now.

Yes, I am profitable and no I am still not trading for a living. Actually about one quarter of my income come from my trading.

My goal in trading is to increase steadily my income from these operations till I make trading my main source of income.

    My background is electric engineering.
